Gladys Barnes Grant died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2008, at River Region Medical Center. She was 68A homemaker, Mrs. Grant was a Jefferson County native.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Grant; a daughter, Joyce Ann Singleton; a son, Leroy Barnes; and her parents, Robert and Syrenthia Littleton.

She is survived by one son, John Littleton of Vicksburg; six daughters, Belinda Barnes, Shannon Hamlin and Theresa Barnes, all of Vicksburg, Mary Barnes and Thomasina Barnes, both of Seattle, Wash., and Diane Gentry of Greenville; one sister, Berthina Williams of Memphis; 30 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
