Carburetor, stereo missing in burglaries

Two vehicle burglaries were reported in the city Wednesday, Vicksburg police crime analyst Suzan Ebeling said today.

The carburetor was removed from a 1983 GMC Sierra pickup truck at Thomas Furniture, 1711 Washington St.

The owner, noticing screws, bolts and other parts lying on the ground around the vehicle, which is used for deliveries, discovered the theft and reported it to police at 10:22 a.m.

The part is valued at $350.

At 3:33 p.m., a stereo valued at $150 was reported stolen from a 1998 Dodge Neon in the 1900 block of Grove Street.

Vicksburg man jailed for Florida authorities

A Vicksburg man was in the Warren County Jail this morning on an out-of-state warrant.

William Shane Williamson, 26, 353 Grange Hall Road, was arrested at 4 a.m. today by sheriff’s deputies. He had been sought on a warrant from St. John’s County, Fla., for probation violation.
