Alex B. Williams died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009, at his home. He was 80.

Mr. Williams was of the Baptist faith. He retired from the City of Vicksburg Sewer Department.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Lucinda Dorsey, who reared him; and a sister, Anita Overton.

He is survived by nieces and nephews, including Barbara Overton, Larry Overton and his caregiver, C.D. Mitchell, and members of the Brown, Harris and Williams families of Vicksburg and Natchez.
