Jesse Lee Monk

Jesse Lee Monk died Monday, Feb. 9, 2009. He was 67.
Born in Port Gibson to the late John Ernest and Elizabeth Tyson Scott Monk, Mr. Monk lived most of his life in Vicksburg.
He participated in Meals on Wheels and was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Lutheran faith. He was a longtime member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Ernest Monk, Gerald Monk and William Monk.
He is survived by a sister-in-law, Betty Monk of Vicksburg; and nieces and nephews, including Linda Monk of Mount Vernon, Va., Tony B. Monk of Enterprise, Robert Monk of Senatobia and Wayne Monk and Bradley Monk, both of Vicksburg.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home with the Rev. Tony B. Monk officiating. Burial will follow at Yokena Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Hartley, Toby Westcott, Mike Cogan, Elvin Westcott, Steven Ford and Tony Ainsworth.
Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Ray Ainsworth, Claude Bagby, Elvin Westcott Sr., C.J. Cogan, Tommy Newell and members of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local 619.
