The path to the altar was marked with white hydrangea blossoms. An all-white arrangement in front of the pulpit was placed in memory of the bride’s grandparents and brother. Matching arrangements of lilies, roses, snapdragons and asparagus fern cascaded from the base of the candelabrums.

A program of nuptial music was presented by Karen Harrison, organist; Marcia Weaver, cantor and soloist; and Riley Harper, soloist. Weaver performed “The Bridal Prayer,” followed by the seating of mothers to “Ave Maria.” The bridesmaids entered to “Canon in D Major,” followed by the bride’s entrance to “Trumpet Voluntary.” Following the nuptial blessing, Harper sang “The Lord’s Prayer.” The recessional was “Wedding March” and “Ode to Joy.”

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a grand ballgown of soft satin and Alencon lace. The A-line skirt, trimmed in lace, was beaded throughout with sequins and bugle beads. The gathered overlay and semi-cathedral train was accented in matching beaded lace.

Her fingertip veil, adorned with matching beads and sequins, was held in place by a comb of Swarovski crystals.

The bride wore strands of pearls, a bracelet and earrings, all gifts from her parents, and a pearl ring, a gift from the groom.

She carried a classical, gathered bouquet of white and minuet roses, miniature calla lilies and stephanotis centered with rhinestones. Tucked into the bouquet were her grandparents’ wedding rings and her grandmother’s rosary beads.

Maid of honor was Mallory McGuffee, sister of the bride, of Vicksburg. Bridesmaids were Stephanie Evans, Lisa Evans, Haley Martin and Kelsey Miller, all of Vicksburg.

They each wore strapless gowns of claret red created with a sweetheart neckline, mermaid skirt and blizzard-beaded bodice. They carried all-white bouquets of hydrangeas, lilies and freesia interspersed throughout with ruby-colored rhinestones.

Flower girl was Skylar Alexander of Jackson. She wore a floor-length, scooped-neck gown of claret that tied in a waist band, which cascaded into long, back streamers. She carried a sphere of white hydrangea blossoms.

The groom’s father served as best man. Groomsmen were Bryan Miller of Vicksburg, Jason Melton of Yazoo City, Griffen Scroggins of Ridgeland and Nick Laura of Lafayette, La.

Ushers were Chad Nielsen of Clinton and Craig Nielsen of Ridgeland.

Ring bearer was Conner Paxton of Vicksburg.

Readers were Carol and Karen McWilliams of Byram.

Special wedding assistant was Connie Hosemann.

The bride’s mother wore a sleeveless ballgown of sapphire-blue faille trimmed in satin with a brooch. Matching jewelry and a shortsleeve satin jacket completed her ensemble.

The groom’s mother wore a mock, two-piece gown lined in pebble georgette. The silver-appliqued top and matching jacket complemented the tiered, A-line skirt of formal-length black.

Both mothers carried clusters of mini calla lilies with freesia.

A reception followed at the Southern Cultural Heritage Center. A canopy of lights cascaded from the columns in the room.

Katelyn Jones and Madeline Thornton attended the guest book, which was presented beside a matted portrait for guests to sign.

The food table featured a massive arrangement of white gladioli, roses, lilies and miniature callas. Guest tables held iced branches, white hydrangeas and red roses in tall cylinder vases.

The three-tiered buttercream wedding cake, presented under a canopy, was decorated in two tones — ivory and cream — and adorned on each layer with a different pattern — scrollwork on the bottom, round discs in the middle and lattice on the top. The confection, served with pieces used at the bride’s parents’ wedding, was placed on a silver plateau atop the bride’s mother’s wedding dress, gracefully arranged to complete the bride’s table. Servers were Dianne and Kristy McGuffee, aunt and cousin of the bride, of Monroe.

The groom’s double-layer chocolate cake, surrounded by Delta State University memorabilia and photos of the couple as DSU students, was topped with the Okra-Man school mascot. Server was Leisa Collins.

Guests were entertained with music by Easy Eddie and the Party Rockers.

The couple departed the reception amid a shower of sparklers. After spending their wedding night in Vicksburg, they traveled to Walt Disney World in Florida for their honeymoon.

They will make their home in Brandon. The bride is employed at Central Mississippi Medical Center, and the groom is employed with Inn Serve Corp.

Out-of-state guests were from Louisiana, Tennessee, Colorado and South Carolina.
