Hughie Vernon Lewis Jr. died Tuesday, March 3, 2009, at River Region Medical Center. He was 61.

Mr. Lewis was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marie Lee Allison and Hughie Vernon Lewis Sr.

Survivors include two sisters, Deloris Lewis of Vicksburg and Alice Lewis of Detroit; three brothers, Robert Lewis and Albert Lewis, both of Nanty Glo, Pa., and Raymond Lewis of Johnstown, Pa.; and other relatives and friends, including Dion Lewis and Charles Howard of Vicksburg.
