The suspect arrested in a bank robbery here Monday was charged Wednesday with an unrelated armed robbery in December.

Michael Watkins, 23, 1780 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., was already in the Warren County Jail, charged in Monday’s robbery of Regions Bank, 4140 E. Clay St., when he was charged with an armed robbery Dec. 4 at Days Inn, 90 Warrenton Road, said Vicksburg Police Sgt. Sandra Williams.

In the robbery at the motel, the clerk reported a man displayed a handgun and then fled the hotel with an undisclosed amount of money. In Monday’s robbery, a note was handed to a teller before the bandit ran from the bank on foot. No weapon was displayed.

After his arraignment on Wednesday, Watkins was transferred to Issaquena County Jail without bond.
