Court report|Convicted murderer Nash given additional 50 years
Published 12:00 am Saturday, March 21, 2009
Matthew Nash, convicted of murder by a jury last month and given an automatic life sentence, received an additional 50-year sentence Thursday for three other crimes that were part of his conviction.
Circuit Judge Frank Vollor handed down the sentence for two counts of aggravated assault and one count of shooting into an occupied dwelling.
Nash, 30, was found guilty by a jury Feb. 25 in the 2007 shooting death of Justin Maurice Harris.
Nash’s half-brother, Anthony Trevillion, 31, and step-brother, Armand Trevillion, 28, were tried and convicted last year in separate trials. Each received life plus 53 years for their involvement in the killing.
The brothers received the additional three years because they were carrying the weapons, said Warren County District Attorney Ricky Smith, but authorities believe Nash was the leader of the group, and that he lured Harris out of the house and onto the porch where he was shot.
Nineteen rounds from an AK-47 plus one blast from a shotgun were fired at the house, at 1224 Grammar St. Besides Harris, two other men were at the dwelling at the time of the shooting, resulting in the aggravated assault charges. The men were unhurt.
Another of Nash’s step-brothers, Alonzo Trevillion, 35, and his cousin Rufus Armstrong, 32, also face charges in the slaying that took place around 3 a.m. on June 17, 2007. Their trial dates have not been set.

Rambo was arrested Aug. 20.
