A wide-ranging community meeting hosted by Entergy Nuclear to discuss the status of a proposed second reactor and other initiatives will begin at 5 p.m. Monday at Port Gibson City Hall.
Efforts in a broad sense to add a second phase of the facility remains active, despite requests to halt the licensing process due to a breakdown in securing a design for the reactor’s major components.
Randy Douet, site vice president for Grand Gulf, will also discuss education and job training opportunities available through a new partnership between the utility and Alcorn State University.
Presentations will be given at this month’s meeting by Kenneth Ross of Port Gibson Main Street and Alexandria Burrell of IMPACT, Inc.
The meeting is open to the public.
