in merchandise missing in city burglary

More than $3,000 in merchandise was missing in a business burglary reported at 11:10 p.m. Saturday in the city during the weekend.

Honeyz Scentz and Fashionz, 3427 Halls Ferry Road, reported 15 pairs of Ed Hardy jeans valued at $75 each, 10 Ed Hardy shirts valued at $45 each, four Ed Hardy jackets valued at $75 each, 10 Polo shirts valued at $65 each, eight Coogie shirts valued at $45 each and five pairs of Coogie jeans valued at $75 each were missing from the shop.

County man charged with statutory rape

A Vicksburg man was in the Warren County Jail Sunday morning accused of having sexual relations with a minor under the age of 16, said Sheriff Martin Pace.

David Cooke, 18, 719 Boy Scout Road, was arrested and charged with statutory rape, said Pace.

The incident was reported by the victim’s family members, said Pace.

Cooke was released on a $5,000 bond.

City man jailed for probation violation

A Vickburg man was in the Warren County Jail this morning for probation violations, jail records said.

Edward Mazie, 25, 400 Mission 66 Apt. B, was being held without bond.

GPS, 4-wheeler among missing items

Several burglaries were reported in the city and county during the weekend.

* A green 454 Arctic Cat 4-wheeler valued at $2,000 was reported missing at 2:20 p.m. Sunday from a shed of a home in the 4400 block of Nailor Road.

* A ratchet set valued at $89, a 2-ton hydraulic floor jack valued at $45 and a black tool box with various tools valued at $60 were reported missing at 5:54 a.m. Saturday from the trunk of a car in the 500 block of Berryman Road. The description of the car was not available.

Three auto burglaries were reported in the city during the weekend.

* A Garmin GPS valued at $400 and a Taurus 9mm handgun valued at $700 were reported missing at 10:45 p.m. Saturday from a 1997 Chevrolet Tahoe.

* A purse with contents totaling $40 was reported missing at 6:28 p.m. Sunday from a 2006 GMC Envoy in the 2000 block of Wisconsin Avenue.

* Cash of $5 was reported missing at 2:18 a.m. Sunday from a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado in the 1000 block of First East Street.
