PORT GIBSON — Charlie Walker Sr. died Saturday, March 28, 2009, at his home in Port Gibson. He was 62.

Mr. Walker is survived by a son, Charlie Walker Jr. of Jackson; two daughters, Angela Walker and Shingyhun Doss, both of Vicksburg; one stepdaughter, Nioche Adams of Los Angeles; two brothers, Eddie Walker Sr. and Jimmy Walker Sr., both of Port Gibson; five sisters, Fannie M. Smith, Bertha Green and Alma Weston, all of Chicago, and Carrie McCray and Cynthia Walker, both of Port Gibson; seven grandchildren; and aunts, nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives, including Edward McCray of Port Gibson.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mount Burner M.B. Church in Pattison with the Rev. Ray Coleman officiating. Burial will follow at St. Phillip Cemetery in Hermanville. Visitation will be from 1 until 6 tonight at Thompson Funeral Home and Saturday at the church from noon until the service.
