Setser, Edwards exchange vows on March 7

Thomas Perry Setser and Renea Gordon Edwards were married at 2 p.m. March 7, 2009, at St. Michael Catholic Church. Monsignor Patrick Farrell and the Rev. P.J. Curley officiated at the ceremony, which included a unity sand vase and the joining of various colors of sand by the couple, the bride’s daughters and the groom’s son.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Orville Gordon Jr. of Jackson. She is the granddaughter of Martha Gordon and the late Orville Gordon Sr. of Stonewall and the late Mr. and Mrs. Benton Robinson of Pascagoula.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Perry Setser of Florida City, Fla., and Mr. and Mrs. John Piazza Sr. of Vicksburg. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Louis Piazza of Hallsville, Texas; the late Donald Setser and the late Marie Shafer, both of Tunkhannock, Pa.; the late Louise Dubois of Binghamton, N.Y.; the late Carl R. Renfroe of Jackson; and the late Elma Renfroe of Greenville.
The bride’s chosen colors were cream, chocolate and Tiffany blue. Music was provided by Kaitlyn East, Candice Killebrew and Lindsey Wallace.
Matron of honor was Katina Tasker of Spring Grove, Pa. Bridesmaids were Julie Morris, sister of the bride, of Bolton and Jade Carson, sister of the groom, of Bradenton, Fla.
Junior bridesmaids were Samantha Edwards and Elizabeth Edwards, daughters of the bride, of Vicksburg.
Flower girl was Rhodie Morris, niece of the bride, of Bolton.
Ed Tasker of Spring Grove served as best man. Groomsmen were Johnny Piazza, brother of the groom, of Tallulah and Clay Ward, brother of the bride, of Mendenhall.
Junior groomsmen were John Thomas Setser, son of the groom, of Pearl and Hunter Tasker of Spring Grove.
Ring bearer was Reece Morris, nephew of the bride, Bolton.
Lectors were Martha Gordon, grandmother of the bride, of Stonewall and Joyce Piazza, grandmother of the groom, of Hallsville.
A reception followed in the parish hall at the church.
The couple was honored with a second reception at the home of John and Beverly Piazza, parents of the groom.
Hostesses were Robin East and Patti Gray. Servers were Jessica Brown, Lauryn Gray, Paige Piazza, Lisa Counts, Angie Brown, Heather Singletary, Bobby Redd, Ashley Hopkins and Valerie Walker.
The couple will make their home in Vicksburg. The bride is a polysomnography technician, and the groom is a local attorney and a lieutenant commander in the U.S. Naval Reserves. He serves as deputy grand knight for the Knights of Columbus Council 898 of Vicksburg.
Joining ceremony
Greg and Suzanne Rottman and Gene and Nancy Wallace led a joining ceremony of the couple’s families, featuring vows by the couple and their children and Scripture readings. The bride chose this time to present a gift to the groom’s son, and the groom chose this time to present gifts to the bride’s daughters.
