Services for Johnell Shorter Sr. will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Word of Faith Christian Center, 1201 Grove St., with Pastor Reginald Walker officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home. Visitation will be at the church Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the service.

Mr. Shorter died Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at River Region Medical Center. He was 59.

Mr. Shorter retired as a driver for Celadon Trucking. He was a member of Word of Faith Christian Center, where he served as an usher and in transportation.
