City man jailed in 2008 burglary

A Vicksburg man was in the Warren County Jail this morning, charged in a 2008 burglary.

Gregory Ragan, 23, 111 Allendale Drive, was arrested at 1 p.m. Monday at the Vicksburg Police Department and charged with a residential burglary that occurred in July 2008, said Sgt. Sandra Williams.

Earlier the same day, Ragan was arrested and booked on misdemeanor charges at the police department before an identity check on the national database system found him to have a felony arrest warrant for the burglary, said Williams.

No information on the burglary was available this morning.

He was held on a $25,000 bond.

Xbox, lunchbox missing in burglaries

A residential burglary and an auto burglary were reported in the city Monday.

* A 360 Xbox game system was reported missing at 4:11 p.m. from a home in the 1400 block of First East Street.

* A lunchbox containing personal items and a wallet, valued at $20, was reported missing at 7:20 p.m. from a 2005 Ford Explorer in the 4000 block of U.S. 61 South.

8 burglaries reported in Warren County

Eight burglaries were reported in Warren County Monday and during the weekend.

On Monday:

* A High Point semi-automatic pistol valued at $203 was reported missing at 3:48 p.m. from a home in the 100 block of Freedom Lane.

* A 2007 Miller Bobcat generator and a trailer together valued at $4,000 were reported missing at 8:17 a.m. from  Key Constructors in the 13000 block of U.S. 61 North.

On Saturday:

* Jewelry valued at $5,000, a Homelite push mower valued at $350, a 42-inch Vizio TV valued at $870 and sunglasses were reported missing at 8:10 p.m. from a home in the 4600 block of Halls Ferry Road.

* A Briggs and Stratton generator valued at $600 was reported missing at 4:07 p.m. from a home in the 90 block of Prentiss Davis Circle.

* A Gateway laptop valued at $1,500, jewelry valued at $1,500 and a PlayStation 3 game system valued at $450 were reported missing at 3:35 p.m. from a home in the 50 block of Sally Willis Road.

* A Stihl weed trimmer valued at $400 was reported missing at 11:43 a.m. from a home in the 1300 block of Jeff Davis Road.

On Friday:

* A Yamaha Big Bear 4-wheeler valued at $2,000 was reported at 9 p.m. from a home in the 14000 block of U.S. 61 South.

* Three sheets of 4-by-8 feet 3/4-inch CD plywood valued at $105 and one box of 20-by-100-foot plastic sheeting valued at $80 were reported missing at 1:37 p.m. from a home in the 3400 block of Tucker Road.

Phone line taken on U.S. 61 South

About 200 feet of AT&T phone line was reported missing at 10:03 a.m. Friday along U.S. 61 South near LeTourneau Road.

The report indicated the line was cut and tools were taken. The value was $3,300.
