Louise Salem

LEBANON, Ky.  — Louise Salem, a former resident of Vicksburg, died Tuesday May 19, 2009, at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon, Ky. She was 90.

Mrs. Salem was born in Mississippi and was a homemaker and a member of Lebanon Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Salem Sr.; her parents, Sylvester and Zula Mae Westerfield Paige; and two sons, George Salem Jr. and Michael Salem.

Mrs. Salem is survived by a son, Ellis Nacief Salem of Louisville, Ky.; two daughters, Gloria Hill of Louisville and Sylvia Cherry of Amelia Island, Fla.; nine grandchildre; and four great-grandchildren.

The funeral was May 22 at Lebanon Baptist Church with Dr. David Whitlock officiating. Burial was at Ryder Cemetery in Lebanon with Bosley Funeral Home in charge.

Pallbearers were Phillip George, Scott Gibbs, Stephen, Justin and Zachary P. Salem and Kyle Varney.
