Marsha Candee Grey

Marsha Candee Grey died Tuesday, June 2, 2009, at University Medical Center in Jackson. She was 53.
Candeé was born April 29, 1956, in Georgetown, S.C., to Billy Turner and the late Kay Turner. She spent most of her years in Vicksburg and was a 1974 graduate of Vicksburg High School. She attended the University of Mississippi and moved back home to Vicksburg and married the love of her life, Gary Grey, son of Joyce Grey and the late Frank Grey, both of Vicksburg.
She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She was active in the lives of her immediate and extended family. Most of her time was spent at the ball fields when her four children were younger, at Eagle Lake, on the front porch swing with her granddaughter and playing with her dog, Trip Nasty Grey.
Candeé and her husband owned and operated Grey Plumbing Inc. for nearly 25 years in Vicksburg. She never met a stranger and was loved by all who knew her.
In addition to her father and husband, she is survived by her stepmother, Mary Lou Turner of Dauphin Island, Ala.; her daughter, Katie Ferrell and her husband, Neil, of Vicksburg, and three sons, Zach Grey and his wife, Jennifer, of Vicksburg, Derek Grey and his wife, Elizabeth, of Jackson and Ryan Grey of Vicksburg; two brothers, Sib Turner of Dothan, Ala., and Rusty Turner of New Orleans; two sisters, Kacki McGill of Lena and Kevin Turner of Hattiesburg; a granddaughter, Ryan Hadley Grey of Vicksburg; an aunt, Jean Shinn of Mobile; J.W. Wright of Vicksburg; and numerous other relatives.
In small circles, she was known as Grandee. Many will miss her great stories, home cooking, contagious laughter and impeccable penmanship.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Glenwood Funeral Home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
