NEWELLTON — Alice Katherine Greene died Sunday, June 14, 2009, in Winnsboro, La. She was 92.

Mrs. Greene was born in Louisville, Miss., and had lived in Newellton for 80 years. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Newellton.

Survivors include three daughters, Bobbie C. Ford of Alexandria, La., Linda Emfinger of Winnsboro and Shelia Thompson of Newellton; a sister, Daisy Moore of Newellton; a brother, Ralph Cooper of Newellton; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Services were at 11 a.m. today at First Baptist Church in Newellton with the Rev. J. Fulton officiating. Burial followed at Legion Cemetery in Newellton under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home of Tallulah. Visitation was at 10 this morning.
