Dorothy Mae Morgan died Saturday, June 27, 2009, at Olive Branch Senior Care Center in Tallulah. She was 82.
Mrs. Morgan was born in Ringgold, La., and lived in Tensas Parish for most of her life. She was a member of and Sunday school teacher at Maryland Baptist Church, near St. Joseph.
Survivors include two daughters, Martha Currington and Brenda Rabb, both of St. Joseph, La.; a son, Jack D. Morgan of St. Joseph; a brother, Edward Kirkpatrick of Newellton; a sister, Barbara Davis of Grayson, La.; and five grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Maryland Baptist Church with the Rev. Roy Dale Strother, assisted by the Rev. Larry Foster, officiating. Burial will follow at Legion Cemetery in Newellton. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 this evening at the church.
Pallbearers will be Michael Currington, Timothy Currington, Justin Currington, Eric Adams, Jason Sandidge and Jim Woods. Honorary pallbearers will be Mrs. Morgan’s granddaughter, great-granddaughters and great-grandsons.
