City man arrested after pot plants found

A Vicksburg man was in the Warren County Jail this morning on a $5,000 bond accused of manufacturing of marijuana.

Perry Green, 25, was arrested at 1 p.m.  Monday at his home at 1225 Bowmar Ave., after neighbors contacted Vicksburg police about marijuana plants growing in his backyard, said Lt. Bobby Stewart.

Police found 10 small plants, Stewart said.

City man charged for fake prescription

A Vicksburg man was arrested Monday for trying to pass a fake prescription at Battlefield Drugs.

Cody Hollowell, 24, 2963 Culkin Road, was arrested after he tried to get a prescription for Oxycontin filled.

He was being held at the Issaquena County Jail on a $1,500 bond, said Lt. Bobby Stewart.

Bracelet, cash missing at East Avenue home

A gold charm bracelet valued at $500 and $50 in dimes were reported missing from a house in the 1600 block of East Avenue Sunday at 6:18 a.m.

An iPod classic valued at $150 was reported missing from a 2003 Nissan Frontier in the 1800 block of Vicklan Street Sunday at 6:20 a.m.

Five burglaries reported in county

Five burglaries were reported in the county over the weekend and Monday.

Two Shakespeare fishing rods valued at $100 were reported missing from a house in the 700 block of Union Avenue Friday at 8:01 a.m.

A Garmin navigational system valued at $400, two pair of Air Jordan shoes valued at $200, one pair of Air Force One shoes valued at $90 and two pairs of Rocawear jeans valued at $160 were reported missing from a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe Friday at 10:58 a.m.

An RCA 20-inch flat screen TV valued at $300 was reported missing from a house in the 500 block of Stenson Road Saturday at 11:50 a.m.

A Legend pool cleaner valued at $700 was reported missing from a house in the 700 block of Timberland Drive Saturday at 1:22 p.m. 

A Magnum-spray paint gun valued at $700, a 48-inch pipe wrench valued at $75 and a 20-ton hydraulic floor jack valued at $125, were reported missing from Riverside Construction, 130 Pitt Road, Monday at 8:37 a.m.
