Brig. Gen. Earl Bodron

ELLENWOOD, Ga. — Brig. Gen. Earl Bodron died Thursday, July 23, 2009, in Ellenwood. He was 87.

Gen. Bodron served in the U.S. Army during World War II and had retired after 30 years in the Georgia National Guard. He was a Mason and a member of Martha Brown United Methodist Church. Gen. Bodron was also a member of East Lake Country Club and the Atlanta Athletic Club.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Earline Jones Bodron.

He is survived by two daughters, Diana Burnette of Snellville and Babs Dawson of Grayson; one grandson; a sister, Margaret Barnes of Vicksburg; and a brother, John Black, also of Vicksburg.
