CHICAGO — Charles Earl Johnson died Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at the Veteran’s Administration Nursing Home in Chicago. He was 70.

Mr. Johnson was born in Vicksburg and graduated from St. Mary’s High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survivors include a daughter, Kimberly R. Johnson of Chicago; two sons, Kourtney Johnson and Charles Johnson Jr., both of Chicago; a brother, Morris Lee Johnson of Vicksburg; a sister, Catherine Gray Smith of Atlanta; three grandchildren; and other relatives and friends, including the Thompson and Culbert families.
