A hurricane preparedness meeting is set for 5:30 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church, a release from the Vicksburg Area Chapter of the American Red Cross said.

Attendees will convene in the church’s fellowship hall. Managers of facilities used in the past to house evacuees of hurricanes are encouraged to attend or send representatives.

Expected to attend are officials with the state Department of Human Services, United Way of West Central Mississippi, Warren County Emergency Management and the City of Vicksburg.
