BRUCE — Verlon Beatrice Brasher McKibben died Thursday, Aug. 13, 2009, at Bruce Community Center in Bruce. She was 92.

Mrs. McKibben was a beautician and former owner of Verlon’s Beauty Shop in Bruce. She was a member of Ellard Baptist Church.

Mrs. McKibben was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Norman Raymond McKibben; her daughter, Judy McKelroy; and six brothers, Egbert, Howard, Eron, R.B., J.C. and Duane Brasher.

Survivors include her two daughters, Shirley Brown of Vicksburg and Norma Hawkins of Forrest City, Ark.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce with the Rev. Kevin Chrestman officiating. Burial will follow at Bruce Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
