CLARKSDALE — Joe Noe Jr., 76, a farmer, died Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2009, at Kosciusko Veterans Home.

Visitation was held 6-8 p.m. Thursday with rosary beginning at 7:30 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Clarksdale. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. today at the church with burial at Oakridge Cemetery.

Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale is handling the arrangements.

He also leaves many nieces and nephews and friends who fondly referred to him as “Uncle Joe.”

He was a Navy veteran and proudly served his country.

He loved his God and his church and was involved in many ways. For many years, he was an usher and choir member, was involved in the St. Elizabeth Parish Fair, was past president of the Parish Council and worked on the church building committee, the school building committee and many benefit projects.

He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He was active in the community as well, having served on the Board of Covenant Bank and instrumented its formation. He was a board member of North Delta Compress and the Farm Bureau and was an FSA committee member.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Noe Sr. and Margie Mangialardi Noe; and three sisters, Louise Noe Rauch, Rosalie Noe Jackson and Marie Noe Walton.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Bobby Jean Balducci Noe of Clarksdale; son, Joe Noe III (Robin) of Clarksdale; three daughters, Angela Kestenbaum (Pete) of Madison, Reneé Turner (Mike) of Vicksburg and Judith Martin (Russell) of Greenwood; brother, Richard Noe of Clarksdale; six sisters, Helen Noe Tuminello, Elizabeth Noe Malatesta, Ramona Noe Young and Agnes Noe Sherman, all of Clarksdale, Gloria Noe Stewart of Batesville and Nancy Noe Frazier of Greenville; eight grandchildren, Peter Vincent, Sara Jean Turner, Clara Grace Turner, Clayton Martin, Camryn Kestenbaum, Joseph Noe, Robert Noe and Caroline Noe.
