Second district U.S. Rep. Bennie Thompson will host a town hall meeting in Port Gibson on Thursday to discuss the future of the country’s health care.

U.S. Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., will hold an open town hall meeting from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Port Gibson City Hall, 1005 College St., to discuss the proposed health care plan. For more information, call 601-437-4234.

He is traveling this week around the state to talk and answer questions from people about the health care plan proposed by President Barack Obama.

Thompson, a Democrat from Bolton, was in Jackson Monday night and will be in Greenville and Greenwood Wednesday.
