No charges had been filed this morning in a hit-and-run death on U.S. 80 early Sunday.
Sgt. James Walker of the Mississippi Highway Safety Patrol said the driver of the car met with officials from the District Attorney’s Office Tuesday as the investigation continued.
The body of John Lee Noble, 33, 4798 U.S. 61 South, was found at about 5 a.m. Sunday, spotted on U.S. 80 near Pear Orchard subdivision, by a passer-by.
Warren County Coroner Doug Huskey said it appeared Noble had been dead about two hours when found.
Noble’s mother, Bonnie Lee, said her son had just left a celebration of his brother’s wedding.
Noble was believed to be walking west on U.S. 80.
The vehicle believed to have been involved was impounded by Warren County Sheriff’s Office after a woman contacted the office Sunday night and told officials she had hit something on the highway.
The woman has not been identified.
