City teen held for having stolen gun

A Vicksburg teen will have his initial appearance in court today following his arrest Thursday for possession of stolen property, said Vicksburg Police Lt. Bobby Stewart.

Taree Johnson, 18, 3135 Washington St., was arrested at 1:43 p.m. by police, who were responding to a disturbance complaint on Polk Street near Second Street, said Stewart. Johnson is accused of pawning a Stevens shotgun, valued at $125, on Aug. 19. The firearm had been reported stolen from an automobile at 3121 Washington St. on July 15. Johnson was held in Issaquena County Jail Thursday night, and his bond was set at $10,000.

A Vicksburg man is to be extradited to Madison Parish today following an arrest made by the Warren County Sheriff’s Department on Thursday, said Madison Parish Sheriff’s Department Investigator James Rash.

Charles Randall Myrick, 39, 302 Katherine Drive, was arrested by Warren County deputies on a Madison Parish warrant Thursday evening, and was being held for extradition. Rash said Myrick is charged with burglary of a hunting camp in Madison Parish. Some of the stolen items were recovered by Warren County deputies, he added.

Memphis woman held for probation violation

A Memphis woman was arrested on a probation violation Thursday and was being held in the Warren County Jail without bond, according to jail dockets. Cathy Hudson, 41, 4042 Camelot Lane, Apt. No. 3, was arrested around 11:30 a.m.

Florence man held in county jail

A Florence man is being held in the Warren County Jail without bond on a charge of circuit court capias, according to jail dockets. James Fondren, 40, 3832 U.S. 49 South, was arrested by Warren County deputies around 11:30 a.m.

All types of TVs hot in city thefts

An auto burglary was reported in Vicksburg this morning, as well as two residential burglaries in the city and county on Wednesday and Thursday.

At 2:14 a.m., Vicksburg Police received a report of an auto burglary in the 1000 block of Mulberry Street. Reported stolen from a 2000 Mercury Sable were a Louis V purse valued at $250, which contained a Nokia cell phone valued at $100 and $530 in cash.

On Thursday at 4:43 p.m. Vicksburg Police took a report of a residential burglary in the 300 block of Grange Hall Road. Reported stolen was a 50-inch plasma television and stereo system, no makes or models specified, valued at $1,500 and $600.

On Wednesday at 4:57 p.m., Warren County Sheriff’s deputies took a report of a residential burglary in the 8400 block of Mississippi 3. Reported stolen was a 27 inch Sanyo flat-screen television, valued at $650; a semi-automatic .25 caliber pistol, no value reported; a 42-inch Vizio flat-screen television, valued at $800; a Remington bolt-action magnum rifle with a Nikon scope, valued at $400; an HP computer monitor, no value reported; a 19-inch flat-panel computer monitor, valued at $500; a 15-inch Sanyo flat-screen television, valued at $160; a Roven Dino Swiss watch, valued at $500; a Gucci ladies’ watch, valued at $500; a Gucci men’s watch, valued at $500; a diamond broach with matching ring, valued at $2,500; a gold pinky ring with diamond, valued at $200; and a gold bracelet with diamonds, valued at $2,500.
