Toastmasters receive awards

Four members of the Vicksburg Toastmasters Club No. 2052 have received awards.

Stephen Spangler, who has achieved Advanced Communicator Gold and Advanced Leader Bronze status within the club, won the humorous speech contest in local and area competitions, and was runner-up in the district.

Bobbie Bingham Morrow was the local runner-up in humorous speech.

The club’s president, Jeff Hensley, won the local table topics contest, and was the category’s area and district runner-up.

Derek Wilson was runner-up in the local table topics contest.

District competition includes 80 clubs and 1,500 members from Mississippi, Arkansas and Tennessee. Spangler, Morrow, Hensley and Wilson are employees of the U.S. Army Engineer Research
