Sallie N. Smith died Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009, at Vicksburg Convalescent Home. She was 75.

Mrs. Smith was a Hattiesburg native and had lived in Vicksburg for the past 58 years. She was a graduate of Brooklyn High School.

She was formerly employed by South Central Bell Telephone Co. and was a loan officer for BancorpSouth until her retirement.

She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers’ R.V. Club and the B.P.W. Club.

Survivors include her husband, R.M. Smith of Vicksburg; and a son, Steven Craige Smith of St. Alban, Vt.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Roger Cresswell officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home Saturday from 9 a.m. until the service.
