The Warren County Homemaker Volunteers will host a leadership meeting from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the Warren County Extension Office, 1100-C Grove St.
Shortcuts to Holiday Foods will be the subject, and Mississippi State University extension agent Sharon Belew will be the featured speaker. Admission is free.

Bridging the Gap back for year two
Bridging the Gap, a fundraiser walk across the U.S. 80 bridge, is back for a second year.
The event, set for 9 a.m. Saturday, is sponsored by LIFE of Mississippi, an organization for disabled people. Registration begins at 7:30. The fee is $25 per person and includes a T-shirt and a one-year LIFE membership. Register at the LIFE office, 1304 Vine St., Jackson, or online at www.lifeofms.com.

Theatre group revises plans
The Vicksburg Theatre Guild has canceled its November production of “The Foreigner.”
Instead, the group will pre-sent “A Night of One Acts,” set for 7:30 p.m. Nov. 13-14 and 20-21 and 2 p.m. No. 15 and 22.
“The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon,” a comedy, and “Tracks,” a drama, will be performed at Parkside Playhouse, 101 Iowa Ave.
Admission is $12 adults, $10 for 55 and older, $7 for 13 and older and $5 for 12 and younger.

Boo at the Zoo set for Saturday
The Jackson Zoo will host Boo at the Zoo, a Halloween event, from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
The event will include trick-or-treating, the Halloween Carousel and ZooBoo Express, a parade and a contest. The parade, for ages 3-12, will be at 6:45 p.m., and the contest at 7. Admission is $7 for adults, $6 for Friends of the Zoo and $4 for children.

Bras across bridge back for 2nd year
The American Cancer Society and Riverwalk Casino Hotel are collecting bras as part of a second annual fundraiser in which the undergarments will be strung across the U.S. 80 Bridge over the Mississippi River.
Organizers are hoping to double last year’s collections to 6,000 bras.
A dedication ceremony for Bras for Breast Cancer will be Nov. 5. Riverwalk will donate $1 for each bra. In Vicksburg, bras may be dropped off at the casino on Warrenton Road and at Shape Up Sisters on Plaza Drive. In Jackson, Curves for Women, Mia Bella, HD Entertainment & Gaming, Mud Predators Artic Cat and Repeat Street will serve as drop-off sites.
