Warren Central wins four at Columbus|Prep soccer

Warren Central had a successful trip to Columbus, as both the Vikings and Lady Vikes earned a pair of victories on Saturday.

The Lady Vikes blanked Tupelo 2-0 and beat the Mississippi School of Math and Science 4-0. Lindsey Burris and Lindsay Barfield scored against Tupelo and Mallory Reynolds assisted on a goal. Reynolds, Barfield and Karley Farrell accounted for the Lady Vikes’ goals against MSMS.

The Vikings were paced by Erik Chappell’s three goals as they blanked host Columbus and MSMS by identical 4-0 scores. Trey Wilson and Jacob Peterson scored a goal apiece against Columbus and Peterson and Matt Waddle had one assist apiece. Waddle scored two goals against MSMS, while Chappell and German exchange student Tim Hoeptner added one apiece.

Vicksburg wins one, ties one at Grenada

The Missy Gators left Grenada on Saturday undefeated, as Tabitha Hayden scored three goals, all on assists from Raven Lawrence. The Missy Gators beat Grenada 2-0 and knotted Oxford 1-1.

The Vicksburg boys got three goals from Perry Tolliver as the Gators split a pair of matches, beating host Grenada 2-1 and falling to Oxford 2-1. Cody Waddell had an assist in the win over Grenada.
