LANSING, Mich. — Benny Caston, formerly of Utica, died Friday, Nov. 20, 2009. He was 73.

He was an employee of Motor Wheel Corp. for 27 1/2 years.

Mr. Caston was preceded in death by his father, Wash Caston; a son, Tommy Caston; three brothers, Edward Lewis Caston, Kelly Hill and Shelly Hill Sr.; and one sister, Emma Jean Williams.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Levella Caston; five sons, Bennie Lewis Caston, Larry Caston, Elmos Caston, Leon Caston and Robert Curtis Caston; two daughters, Sandra Marie Caston and Tammy Caston; his mother, Willie B. Hill of Vicksburg; one brother, Tommy Caston of Vicksburg; eight sisters, Mary O’Neal, Isabella Heath, Ruthie Anderson and Rena Washington, all of Vicksburg, and Etta Harris, Willie Mae Walker, Ruthie Mae Caston and Ruby Jean Caston; 21 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Riley Funeral Home, 426 W. St. Joseph St., Lansing. Visitation will be at the funeral home Wednesday from noon until 3 p.m. and Friday from 10:30 a.m. until the service.
