Alma Camille Brooks

PORT GIBSON — Alma Camille Brooks died Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, at Promise Hospital in Vicksburg. She was 88.
Ms. Brooks was a lifelong resident of Lorman. She taught at Port Gibson High School and Chamberlain-Hunt Academy. She was also a social worker for the Mississippi Department of Human Resources. She traveled extensively. For the past several years she had been a resident of Port Gibson and was a member of the Port Gibson Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, Davis L. Brooks and wife Sharon of Nettleton, Miss.; a sister, Laura Mae Ellis of Lorman; and two grandchildren, John L. Brooks of Oxford and Mat D. Brooks of Nettleton.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Glenwood Funeral Home in Port Gibson with the Rev. Billy Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Cane Ridge Cemetery in Lorman. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Wednesday until the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Butch Sikes, Mike Dent, John Dent, Jimmy Salter, Warren Ellis and Warren Iler Ellis.
