St. Aloysius splits two at Hillcrest tourney

St. Aloysius finished its run at the Hillcrest Tournament by splitting two games against Copiah Academy on Saturday.
The boys’ team beat Copiah 44-33 behind 17 points from Ford Biedenharn and 10 from Elliott Bexley. The Flashes improved to 2-5 with the victory.
The Lady Flashes, however, slipped to 1-6 on the season after losing 63-29 to Copiah. Carley Smith scored 12 points and Sara Howington had nine for the Lady Flashes, but Copiah outscored them 26-11 in the first quarter and never looked back.
St. Aloysius will return to action on Tuesday, on the road against the Mississippi School for the Deaf at 6 p.m.
