A Yazoo City man was critically injured and flown to a Jackson hospital after a wreck between a car and a log truck on Mississippi 3 Saturday afternoon.

Brandon Quinn, 23, was in critical condition at University Medical Center late Saturday evening after the wreck at about 12:45 p.m., hospital spokesman Matt Westerfield said.

Mississippi Highway Safety Patrol Trooper Scott Henley said Quinn’s Chevrolet Cobalt was southbound on the two-lane highway just north of U.S. 61 North when his car apparently crossed the center line and into the path of a northbound tractor-trailer rig driven by Daniel Glass, 60, of Fayette.

“The driver’s side of the car was ripped open when it caught the fuel tank and the rear wheels of the truck,” Henley said.

Glass “was shaken up” but did not require medical treatment, the trooper said.

Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said deputies directed traffic along the highway after the accident.
