PORT GIBSON — Julia Marie McGriggs died Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. She was 64.

Mrs. McGriggs was a member and a mother at Mercy Seat M.B. Church. She also was a member of the Baptist Aid and the Eastern Star.

Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Frank McGriggs of Port Gibson; three sons, Louis Perry and Kenneth McGriggs, both of Port Gibson and Frank McGriggs of New Orleans; one daughter, Velma Waddell of Oakley, Calif; two sisters, Caroline Morbley of Milwaukee and Betty Carter of Port Gibson; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Services will be Wednesday at noon at Mercy Seat M.B. in Port Gibson. Burial will follow at Mercy Seat M.B. Church Cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home in charge. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1 until 6 p.m. at the funeral home and Wednesday at the church from 11 a.m. until the service.
