HOUSTON, Texas — Richard J. Lawson McMiller, formerly of Vicksburg, died Friday, Jan. 1, 2010, in Houston, Texas. She was 75.

Mrs. McMiller was a retired nurse. She was a member of St. Jerome’s Catholic Church in Houston and a former member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Vicksburg. She was a 1951 graduate of Bowman High School.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and DeWilda Lawson.

Survivors include her husband, Amos E. McMiller Jr.; three daughters, Linda Smith and DeWilda Brown, both of Houston, and Sherri McMiller of Vicksburg; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and other relatives.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Melinda’s Funeral Home in Humble, Texas.
