LORMAN — George W. Henry died Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009, at Autumn Village Nursing Home in Worcester, Mass. He was 78.
Mr. Henry was a 20-year veteran of the Army, serving in Germany, France and Korea. He was a member of Laurel Hill M.B. Church. He moved back to Mississippi from Leominster, Mass., after retiring with 20 years of service as a police officer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Littleton and Indiana Rivers Henry; seven brothers, James, John, Robert, Hilbert, Roosevelt, Joe L. and Thomas Henry; and one sister, Ruby L. Henry Cameron.
Survivors include two daughters, Georgene Ferrie of Tennessee and Darlene Gaudet of Leominster; two sisters, Sarah Johnson and Clara Clinton, both of St. Louis; and other relatives and friends, including Shirley Henry, Cecil Cameron and Cecilia Cole, all of Vicksburg.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mount Olive M.B. Church in Lorman with the Rev. Barry Thompson Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
