A Vicksburg woman was in the Warren County Jail Friday night on a drug charge.

Keariston Caples, 28, 448 Boy Scout Road, was arrested at 12:30 p.m. Friday by Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, and charged with possession of a controlled substance, crack cocaine, with intent to distribute, Vicksburg police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.

Three ounces of crack cocaine valued at $1,000 per ounce was found in the center console of Caples’ 1999 Chevy Suburban after it was stopped by police, Mississippi Highway Patrol officers and Warren County sheriff’s deputies at Thalweg Drive and U.S. 61 North, Stewart said. He said one of the police’s K-9 dogs alerted officials of the drug.

After his vehicle was stopped and searched, Stewart said, officials found an ounce of crack cocaine inside his 1997 Chevy Z-71. Mack was charged with possession of controlled substance and driving on a suspended driver’s license. He was held without bond.
