GUNNISON, Miss. — Samuel Durst Walker died Thursday, Jan. 21, 2010, at his home in Gunnison, Miss. He was 55.

Mr. Walker was raised in Stoneville and was a former Vicksburg resident.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Cicero and Mary Edith D. Walker; and his brothers, Charles Rembert Walker, Mark Schrader Walker and John Berkely Walker.

He is survived by his wife, Andalyn Reese Walker; his children, Stuart Wayne Walker, Allison Marie Walker and Sheryl-Bess Rembert Walker Mangrum and their mother, Pamela Bayles Walker; his stepchildren, E. Michael Doyle IV and Mary E. Talbot; his siblings, James Cicero Walker, Mary Bess Walker, Edith Kate W. Hampton, Rea M. Walker and Andree Walker; and six grandchildren.

A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Rosedale Presbyterian Church.
