Mr. and Mrs. John Madison Floyd of Brandon announce the engagement of their daughter, Karen Elizabeth, to Ike Collins Berger. Mr. Berger is the son of Mr. and Mrs. R.C. Berger Jr. of Vicksburg.

Miss Floyd is the granddaughter of Carolyn Floyd and the late E.C. Floyd of Sallis and Mr. and Mrs. Eugene H. Allyn of Midwest City, Okla.

Mr. Berger is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. R.C. Berger Sr. of Cleveland and the late Mr. and Mrs. Ike A. Parchman Jr. of Amory.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Brandon High School. She received an undergraduate degree from Mississippi State University and a graduate degree from Mississippi College, both in music education.

Miss Floyd teaches music for kindergarten and first grade at Pearl Lower Elementary School.

The prospective groom is a graduate of Vicksburg High School. He attended Jones Junior College and the University of Southern Mississippi, where he studied computer science.

Mr. Berger is the regional information technology manager for LHC Group.

Vows will be exchanged March 13, 2010, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Clinton.
