Mr. and Mrs. Edley H. Jones III of Jackson announce the upcoming marriage of their daughter, Elizabeth Ware “Lizzy” Jones, to Timothy Alexander Abston of Jackson. Mr. Abston is the son of Dr. Susan Buttross Riddell and Robert Riddell of Canton and Dr. and Mrs. Phillip Abston of Greeley, Colo. 

Miss Jones is the granddaughter of Mrs. Joe Dean Ware and the late Clayton Ware and Mr. and Mrs. Edley H. Jones Jr., all of Vicksburg.

Mr. Abston is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Buttross Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Riddell Sr., all of Canton, and Mr. and Mrs. Theron Abston of Madison.

The bride-elect is a 2002 graduate of St. Andrew’s Episcopal School and a 2006 graduate of Rhodes College in Memphis, where she received a degree in art history.

She is an art instructor at Rosa Scott Ninth Grade School in Madison.

The prospective groom is a 2002 graduate of St. Joseph Catholic School in Madison and a 2006 graduate of Millsaps College in Jackson.

He is completing his fourth year at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson and will begin his residency in general surgery after graduation in May.

The wedding will be March 13, 2010, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Canton. A reception will follow the ceremony at The Jiggitts House, which was built in Canton in 1911 by the bride-elect’s great-great-grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. Louis Jiggitts.

The couple’s engagement was announced at a party for their friends at the Jackson home of Mr. and Mrs. Cooper Morrison.
