Maxey D. Parish Jr.

GLEN ALLAN — Maxey D. Parish Jr. died Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at his home. He was 48.

Mr. Parish was born in Cleveland, Miss., he had been a resident of Glen Allan for the past 10 years. He was a graduate of Sharkey-Issaquena Academy. He enlisted in the National Guard in 1979 and served two tours in Iraq and one tour in Afghanistan. He worked a number of years for a riverboat towing company and was a member of Lake Washington Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Warner Parish of Glen Allan; three sons, Hank Parish, Daniel Parish and William Parish, all of Wilson, Ark.; his father, Maxey D. Parish of Rolling Fork; a sister, Rene Seymour of Greenville; and former wife, Michelle Winford of Wilson.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Lake Washington Baptist Church in Glen Allan with the Revs. Jimmy McClendon and Norman Maranto officiating. Burial will follow at Hollandale Cemetery in Hollandale. Visitation will be tonight from 5 until 8 at Glenwood Funeral Home in Rolling Fork and from 1 p.m. Friday until the service at the church.

Pallbearers will be Greg Henderson, Billy Joe McPhail, Dale Pearce, Matt Sharpe, Ricky Cox and Art Arrington.
