Anna Claire Gamble

Anna Claire Gamble died at her home in Vicksburg Saturday, May 15, 2010. She was 93.
Miss Gamble was a lifelong resident of Vicksburg, the daughter of Alexander A. Sr. and Sarah Hennessy Gamble. She was a 1935 graduate of St. Francis Xavier Academy and a lifelong member of St. Paul Catholic Church. Miss Gamble retired as trust officer from First National Bank after 40 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Conway; her brother, Alexander A. Gamble Jr.; and a nephew, David A. Gamble.
Miss Gamble is survived by one sister, Mary Louise Harris of Vicksburg; six nieces, Patricia Conway of Savannah, Ga., Betty Ann Conway of Sarasota, Fla., Gayle Warren of Jackson and Alexis Frisbee, Sharon Andrews and Karen Gamble Mullen, all of Vicksburg; three nephews, Dreher Harris of Oxford, Preston Harris of Mooresville, N.C., and James P. Conway Jr. of Vicksburg; and 12 great-nieces and -nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. P.J. Curley officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Riles Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the service at the church. The family will have a private Rosary ceremony.
Pallbearers will be James P. Conway III, John Zachary Conway, John Preston Harris Jr., Alexander Frisbee, Owen Frisbee, Sam Andrews and Shawn Michael Mullen.
Honorary pallbearers will be residents of Carriage House Apartments, former employees of First National Bank, Joe Schmidt, David Hosemann, Dr. Russell Barnes and Dr. Murray Whitaker.
