A 70-year-old Texas woman was attacked and robbed Saturday night while walking with her husband on Washington Street in downtown Vicksburg.
At 9:53, the victim, from Arlington, told police she was approached by two thin black males about 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-8 wearing blue jeans and white T-shirts, Vicksburg police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.
She said the suspects knocked her to the ground and took her purse, containing $95, then ran east on China Street.
Stewart said the woman was treated for a cut to her forehead and released from River Region Medical Center.
The woman did not know the suspects, Stewart said.
