Bill Marcy of Meridian and Richard Cook of Byram are headed to a June 22 Republican primary runoff in Mississippi’s 2nd Congressional District.

Complete but unofficial results from the U.S. House primary became available Wednesday after Hinds County finished counting votes.

The primary was Tuesday, but some Hinds poll workers had trouble transferring information out of voting machines that night.

George Bailey of Clinton placed third in the primary.

The eventual Republican nominee will be on the Nov. 2 general election ballot with Democratic incumbent Bennie Thompson and a Reform Party candidate.

Cook, a teacher, ran against Thompson in 2008. Marcy is a retired Chicago police officer who lives outside the 2nd District.

Marcy received 537 votes in Warren County, Cook received 157 and Bailey 112.
