LEARNED — David Powell Taylor Jr. died Saturday, June 5, 2010, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. He was 47.

Mr. Taylor was born in Jackson and lived in Learned. He was a former resident of Cayuga and was retired from Hinds County. He was a member of the Cayuga United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, David Powell Taylor Sr.

Survivors include his wife, Lisa Welbourne Taylor of Learned; his mother, Mildred Taylor of Cayuga;

his grandmother, Irene McManus of Crystal Springs; one brother, Tommy Taylor of Cayuga; and two sisters, Leigh Portwood of Clinton and Cindy McNair of Learned.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Cayuga United Methodist Church with the Revs. Marvin Curtis and Rocky Henriques officiating. Burial will follow at Cayuga Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at Glenwood Funeral Home in Utica.

Pallbearers will be Clay Denley, Chuck Keys, Terry Hickman, Cliff Boyd, Keith Henderson, Brian Odom, Bernard Cook and Jimmy Strong.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Learned Volunteer Fire Department, Tommy Rawls, Jerry Bond and Anthony Denley.

Memorials may be made to Learned Volunteer Fire Department, Cayuga Cemetery or the American Kidney Foundation.
