On behalf of Betty Wilson, Sheriff Martin Pace, members of the Warren County Sheriff’s Department and all members of law enforcement, past and present, I wish to thank those who helped send Wilson to the ceremony in Washington, D.C., honoring her husband, deputy Tom Wilson, who was killed in a line-of-duty accident in Warren County.

First to Pat Cashman, Karen Gamble and Charlie Mitchell of The Vicksburg Post, who more than gladly supported the endeavor and proclaimed it. The following contributed to covering 100 percent of the cost: Culkin Volunteer Fire Department, Vicksburg Insurance, Riles Funeral Home, Bobby Hannon of KFC, Ron Washington of Walmart, Gil Martin, Dr. Brent Thomas, Willie Case, Ron Anderson, Li Chu Lee, James Dunn, Elizabeth Beckham, plus two from out of state, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Schultz and Charles Featherstone.

I thank everyone for trusting me with the collection. The memory of Tom truly deserved it.
