Business burglaries were reported Monday at North Washington Street neighbors J&B Variety Store and Topsie’s Liquor Store, the third this month for the liquor store, Vicksburg police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.

At 8:48 a.m., three boxes of Swisher Sweets cigars valued at $5 each, 10 cartons of Kool cigarettes valued at $35 each and assorted liquor valued at $300 were reported stolen from the businesses that share an address of 3512 N. Washington St.

Stewart said someone entered the liquor store through a door, climbed into the ceiling and crawled to the variety store.

“I believe they’re related to the others” reported on June 7 and 10, said Stewart.
