Q: I own a store, and people who are walking their dogs often bring them in while they shop. Should I tell them no? — Dogs Not Allowed?
A: I think you should consult the city code on animals in a store. If it allows certain pets, be sure the dog is on a leash and is vaccinated. I happen to live in a city where dogs are everywhere. Though they are not supposed to be in restaurants, I know many pizza places that allow dogs, especially those with take-out customers. Some retailers don’t like dogs in their stores and, in that case, comply. Personally, I enjoy animals and wind up petting the dogs I see in places I frequent. But it’s probably best to stick to pet-friendly places — such as a vet’s office, pet food store, or shop where dogs are bathed and cleaned. Do this for yourself and the dog’s benefit.
